NPL Division One East
Ossett United 0-5 Liversedge
Nicky Walker’s hat-trick was the centre-piece as unbeaten leaders Liversedge stormed to a five-star derby victory against Ossett United in front of a record-breaking crowd at Ingfield.
Over 1000 people turned out for the mouth-watering clash which ‘Sedge took control of just after half-time.
Jonathan Rimmington’s ‘Sedge gained the lead just before the break.
After Ossett striker James Walshaw’s shot had been blocked, the ball was pinged forward and Joe Walton supplied Walker with his first of the night.
The interval passed and Ollie Fearon’s cross was spilled by Mat Zaniewski and Walton gratefully scored from the gift.
Two soon became three as Fearon headed home from a corner.
Ossett had two chances of their own before Walker scored his fourth – given after an element of confusion as the assistant referee had flagged for offside.
Walker sealed his treble deep into injury-time after breaking clear.
