Ilkley Town grabbed the local bragging rights in the derby clash with Steeton as Simon Armstrong’s men triumphed with a 3-1 victory.

George Gomersal netted twice for Ilkley Town, with Tom Smith chipping in with one goal.

Gomersal flicked on Kevin Gonzalez’s fine cross to place Ilkley in front in the 14th minute.

Chances flowed at both ends – Gonzalez hit the crossbar after goalkeeper Jordan Moorhouse tipped the ball onto it.

Steeton were also denied a certain goal by Matt Swift.

As half-time was beckoning, Smith a rocket and found the net thanks to the underside of the crossbar.

Steeton pulled a goal back to give themselves a chance of recovery when striker Jahro Parchement slotted home at the far post.

But with time running out, Alfie Heaton ran down the wing and crossed for Gomersal to convert, with a bit of help from one of the posts.

A hat-trick from Daniel Naidole earned a 3-0 win for Golcar United against Cleator Moor Celtic.

The win puts Golcar up to second place, three points behind unbeaten leaders Bury AFC.

Golcar are away at Newcastle Benfield in the FA Vase First Round on Saturday.
