New Goole AFC forward Leon Osborne

Ex-Bradford City attacker Leon Osborne has joined Mike Carmody’s Goole AFC.

Osborne arrived this week and in time for Goole’s FA Vase first round tie at Winterton Rangers on Saturday.

“I was looking for a striker who could add a few more goals to our game and his name popped up,” Osborne told Non League Yorkshire.

“He’s a positive signing for us and I know what he brings.

“I watched him against us for Rosso in pre-season and he has got some very good ability.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Goole shirt and hopefully he can do the business for us.”

Osborne played 36 times for the Bantams between 2006 and 2012 before dropping into the Non League game.

Since then he has played for a host of clubs including Harrogate Town, Stalybridge Celtic, Frickley Athletic, Bradford (Park Avenue), Brighouse Town, Scarborough Athletic and Pickering Town.

He did sign for Rossington Main in the summer but did not feature in a competitive fixture.
