Young Liversedge forward Charlie Marshall is John Deacey’s first signing as the new Tadcaster Albion manager.

Liversedge have kindly released Marshall from his contract to allow him to sign for Tad and gain the game-time he needs.

Marshall, who recently spent time back on loan at his dad Paul’s Garforth Town, has struggled to get into the unstoppable ‘Sedge side this season.

He moved to ‘Sedge in the summer after a great couple of years with Garforth.

He now links up with a former Harrogate Town team-mate of his dad’s in the shape of Deacey ahead of Tad’s clash at Pontefract Collieries on Saturday.

It is sort of an homecoming for Marshall who obviously watched his dad manage the Tad for years and even played for the under 12s when it was managed by club chairman Andy Charlesworth.

“Charlie is a great signing for the club,” Deacey told Tadcaster’s website.

“He is young and eager to get amongst the goals and will provide more support to the front men. We need to get him match fit as soon as possible but his experience at Liversedge should hold him in good stead.”
