Steve Roberts has persuaded powerful striker Billy Logan to return to Pickering Town.
Logan rejoins after two years with local rivals Bridlington Town.
Logan, who has also played for Scarborough Athletic, has enjoyed a few prolific spells with Pickering – most notably his 20 goals during their promotion season from the NCEL Premier Division in 2018.
“I remember him from my Scarborough days and I live in Scarborough myself so I know all about him,” Roberts told Non League Yorkshire.
“He came to Scarborough when I coaching there and he’s a player I have always admired and he’s that number nine who we have been missing.
“He’s got the physicality and he can link the play and he can score goals.
“He’s not had the best start to the season and I’ve spoken to him about that.
“It is just a confidence thing and I’ve said to him that you don’t become a bad player overnight.
“Maybe the change will do him good.
“He’s definitely somebody we needed so I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Logan is expected to feature against Cleethorpes Town this afternoon.
With Devonte Morton leaving for Frickley Athletic and Jackson Jowett’s exit to North Ferriby, Roberts has been forced to scour the market again.
Logan could be the first signing of a couple of signings as Roberts has irons in the fire.
