John Deacey has waved his magic wand and turned Tadcaster Albion’s season around in two games as his side ran riot and won 5-1 at Pontefract Collieries.
Although there was controversy at one stage, Tad scored four times in the first half as FA Cup heroes Ponte collapsed.
The game turned in a matter of minutes halfway through the first half.
A big penalty appeal over a challenge on Pontefract’s Scott Smith was turned down – the protests so strong Jack Vann was cautioned.
Within a few minutes, Eddie Church collided with Pontefract goalkeeper Ryan Musselwhite and a penalty was awarded.
Romario Vieira stepped up to score and Tad never looked back.
Des Amponsa made it two before Vieira scored from a free kick after Musselwhite had been deemed to have handled outside the penalty area.
Church then put Tad out of sight as half-time approached.
Church would score again in the second half before Gavin Rothery pulled one back for Ponte very late in the game.
