Cory Woodward was the last minute hero as Wakefield AFC spectacularly came from behind to win 3-2 at Penistone Church Reserves.

Wakefield, whose side contained new signings Billy Mole and Jock Curran, fell 2-0 behind in the first half.

Ex-Pontefract Collieries and Hallam striker Jordan Turner was the mastermind behind the comeback.

He scored two quick-fire goals before half-time to level proceedings.

He converted Red Bates’ cross for the first one before Mole whipped in a lovely delivery for the equaliser.

The scores remained level until Woodward scored from a scramble deep into second half injury-time.

Owen Sykes found the net twice as Wombwell Main fought back from conceding early to beat Stocksbridge Park Steels 3-2.

Jimmy Middleton put the the Steels into an early lead.

Sykes equalised from a free kick after Steels goalkeeper Matt King had handled outside his area.

Former Worsbrough Bridge striker Kieran Hirst then placed them ahead.

Sykes added the third before the break.

Dan Broomhead gave Stocksbridge second half hope but the remaining talking point was the dismissal of Louis Shaw following an altercation with Jordan Kershaw.

Leaders Swinton Athletic fought back from a 1-0 half-time deficit to win 3-1 against threadbare Ecclesfield Red Rose.

It was a great effort from Ecclesfield who had eight missing.

Debtuant Daniel Reet got their goal.

Curtis Wilkinson’s double inside the opening 13 minutes of the second half turned the game.

Sam Green sealed the win late-on.

Oughtibridge’s winning bubble was popped by Sheffield Town who won 3-2 at home.

Rida Hannioui’s hat-trick led Sheffield over the victory line.

Matthew Blakey, Ben Davies and Luke Marsden scored for North Gawber in the 3-1 victory over High Green.

Elias Thiongo was High Green’s goal-scorer.

A hat-trick from Gareth Brewins was the centre-piece of Hepworth United’s 7-0 demolition of Jubilee Sports.

Mark Askham (2), Ryan Silvester and Ethan Wareing also netted for Hepworth.
