Maspero returns to the game

West Yorkshire League

Sherburn White Rose manager Mark Maspero

Mark Maspero is back in the game after becoming the manager of WYL Division One side Sherburn White Rose for the second time.

Maspero returns to the dugout a month after his shock departure from Toolstation NCEL Division One side FC Humber United who he had completely rebuilt.

Sherburn’s statement said: “The club have reluctantly accepted the resignation of Rob Foreman as First Team Manager.

“Rob has decided to stand down from the role due to personal and family reasons.

“Rob, with the support of Dave Green and Rich Horsley, took over the team at a very difficult period and worked tirelessly to bring some stability to the club.

“On the field it has been a tough start to the new season, but Rob has helped to guide a number of junior players in stepping up into Senior football.

“Off the field, Rob has always had the clubs interests at heart and continues to be a great role model for the club.

“We would like to thank Rob, Dave and Rich for all of their efforts and wish them well in the future.

“Further to this, the club have approached and reappointed Mark Maspero, Andy Leech and Olly Barton to take over running of our First Team squad.

“The trio have a wealth of coaching experience, most recently at FC Humber and return to the club with unfinished business.

“We wish the new management team all the best for the season ahead.”
