Rainworth Miners Welfare 0-2 Swallownest
Debutant and man of the match Nana Nyarko helped struggling Swallownest finally record their first win in the league since mid-August.
The victory at Rainworth Miners Welfare – only their second league win of the campaign – acts as a massive confidence ahead of two very difficult fixtures.
The turning point for Alex Nightingale’s side was Richard Williams’ goal on the stroke of half-time.
Williams was sent scuttling away and he fired into the bottom corner with a left-footed strike.
Young Nyarko joined ‘Nest last week on ‘loan’ from Handsworth and he showed his dangerous side in the first half when he hit the crossbar.
That effort didn’t go in but his shot in the 77th minute did.
His half-volley from the edge of the penalty area took a massive deflection and nestled into the net to seal their win.
