Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League
Danny Barlow is set to make his first return to Dodworth Miners Welfare with Swinton Athletic this afternoon.
The battle of the titans is a showpiece occasion for the County Senior League and is likely to be a fantastic advert for Step 7 football.
Former Shaw Lane Aquaforce and Penistone Church forward Barlow was a major part of Dodworth’s emergence as a County Senior League giant but he chose to leave in August to join rivals Swinton who are unbeaten in over two years in the league and are widely-regarded as the favourites for the title.
His return ‘home’ is a sideshow for the game as Dodworth, managed by former Barnsley and Limerick defender Darren Young, target a major scalp.
Swinton are top with 19 points from seven games while Dodworth are second with 15 points from six matches.
Terry Simon’s Wombwell Main visit Barnsley rivals North Gawber in the other star fixture.
Jubilee Sports host High Green Villa and Sheffield Town welcome Hepworth United in the other two Premier Division games.
