NPL Division One East
Sam Scrivens and Ian Richards have been reunited as the Grantham Town striker has joined Stocksbridge Park Steels on a short-term loan deal.
Ahead of the trip to Dunston tomorrow, Stocksbridge have borrowed Scrivens from the NPL Premier Division side to help alleviate the squad’s threadbareness caused by unavailability and injuries.
Richards has four players unavailable due to personal commitments and Kurtis Turner and key striker Joe Lumsden walked off injured at training on Tuesday.
Scrivens scored over 30 times when Penistone finished second behind Worksop Town in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table in 2019.
“He’s returning from injury and long-term Jas Colliver still wants him at Grantham but he’s coming to help us cover the gaps we have got,” Richards told Non League Yorkshire.
“He was huge during the success we had at Penistone so I’m hoping we can see glimpses of that.
“He’s not 100% match fit but he’s definitely in a position where he can have an impact from the bench if need be.”
