Penistone go second in County Senior League after beating Wombwell

Penistone Church Reserves are second after coming from behind to win 2-1 in the local derby with Wombwell Main.

The league’s top goal-scorer Ryan Wingrove had fired Wombwell ahead but Penistone showed great character to fight back.

Their top sharp-shooter Jack Moore netted the equaliser before Florent Fadiga hit the winner.

Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 climbed to fifth after their 6-0 away annihilation of Sheffield Town.

Experienced midfielder Laurie Wilson rolled back the years with a hat-trick.

Daniel Reet scored twice while Ash Simpson got a solitary goal.
