Super-sub Parker’s goal the difference for Bridlington

NPL Division One East

Dunston 1-2 Bridlington Town

Young Declan Parker scored the decisive goal for Bridlington Town

Super-sub Declan Parker propelled Bridlington Town off-the-bottom as his goal was the difference in the stunning victory at Dunston.

Promotion-chasing Dunston had been one of the form sides prior to the fixture while Brid hadn’t won in the league since the 2nd October so the stats under-line how superb the victory was.

Player/manager Brett Agnew broke the deadlock early on in the second half with a shot that required help off the post.

Ten minutes after coming on, Parker extended the lead.

Jaz Goundry made the break and he found Parker whose low shot was fumbled by Dunston’s goalkeeper and landed into the net.

Dunston ensured late drama as a handball from a Craig Baxter cross won them a penalty.

Terry Galbraith hammered it down the middle but it failed to inspire Dunston,

The home side’s woes were compounded when Dan Capewell was shown a straight red card for his lunge on Brid goalkeeper James Hitchcock.

The Team

Bridlington Town: Hitchcock, Dixon, Dawson, Davidson (Parker), Bulless, Lewis, Goundry, Hotte, Agnew, Annan, Dennison (McNaughton). Sub unused: Williams.
