Lowest moment in football

Goole AFC striker Sam Cable

My lowest moment in football probably has to be when I was firing on all cylinders at Frickley and I then had to have 2 groin operations putting me out for the rest of the (2018//19) season.

Biggest regret in football

Turning down the opportunity to go to America

First semi-professional manager

Former Frickley Athleitc manager Karl Rose was Sam Cable’s Non League manager

My first Non League manager was Karl Rose at Frickley. He was some man and if I’m honest a great manager and a nice guy if you did as he asked and if not you knew about it.

Non League Debut

Tough to remember really as it seems so long ago. It was at Frickley and I was 16 and came on for the last 15 minutes. We were 1-0 up and I played out of position in central midfield and was just told to run and cause havoc.

First Red Card in Non League

My first red was for Selby in FA Cup against Whickham. I kicked the ball at one of their lads who dived while he was on the floor at his head – was only like 10 minutes in.

First Non League Goal

First goal was for Selby against Glasshoughton, came on as a sub and scored within five minutes.
