Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 hat-trick hero and man of the match Daniel Reet

Former Mansfield Town striker Daniel Reet’s hat-trick helped Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 record a nerve-jangling 5-4 win at Hepworth United.

The result lifts Jon Wragg’s men to fourth in the Premier Division table with one round fixtures to go before the winter break.

But they almost threw their win away in a bizarre second half.

Ecclesfield, whose goals were scored by Reet and Ed Bollington (2) were leading 5-1 at half-time but somehow allowed Hepworth back into it.

They were hanging on by the end.

The match was the only game played in the Premier Division as five were postponed and Penistone Church were in action in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Association Cup.
