Pickering Town climbed off the bottom of the NPL Division One East table in spectacular fashion with the incredible 4-2 home win over Dunston.

Pickering were on the front-foot from the start and Steve Roberts’ men led 4-0 at half-time.

Billy Logan kick-started the blockade of Dunston’s goal with the fourth minute opener.

An own goal in the tenth minute then put Pickering in dreamland.

Debutant Omar Sanyang scored the third close to half-time after the visiting goalkeeper spilled the ball.

The game was over when Lewis Taylor hammered home the fourth.

Two second half goals from Dunston didn’t prevent a sensational victory.

Pete Wild’s FC Halifax Town went joint top of the National League thanks to second half goals in the 2-0 defeat of struggling King’s Lynn at The Shay.

Halifax are second because of leaders Chesterfield’s superior goal-difference.

Matty Warburton broke the deadlock with a low shot in the 63rd minute.

On-loan Blackburn Rovers striker Jack Vale pounced on a defensive blunder to seal Halifax’s win in the third minute of stoppage time.

Goole AFC were left heart-broken after Tom Waudby scored a last minute goal to earn Barton Town a 2-1 win in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.

Sam Cable’s second half penalty – which cancelled out Curtis Bateson’s opener – had appeared to have secured Goole a point.

Guiseley won 4-1 in their West Riding County Cup second round tie at John Deacey’s Tadcaster Albion.

Charlie Marshall’s wonder goal brought Tadcaster level in the tenth minute after Guiseley had taken an early lead.

Jacob Gratton and Adam Haw’s doubles saw Guiseley safely progress.
