Jacob Rickards got a double as Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 went into Christmas on an upbeat note as the 4-1 beating of High Green Villa propelled them to third in the table.

Although Jon Wragg’s side have played more games than the teams around them, it is still a great position to sit in going into the New Year.

Attacking duo Ryan Hallsworth and Jack Moore scored the goals.

Church, who had Owen Wildblood and Harley Wilson suspended, are three points behind leaders Swinton Athletic with a game-in-hand.

Billy Mole placed Wakefield ahead in the first half.

Sheffield hit back in the second to secure a point.

Houghton Main picked up their third win of the campaign with the 3-1 defeat of Hepworth United.

Mohammed Saeed, Harry Steeple and Louis Wardle hit the target for Houghton who played the last 30 minutes with ten men.
