Club legend Nash Connolly has returned to Hemsworth Miners Welfare to aid their battle to avoid relegation.
Local lad Connolly leaves Ossett United after 18 months at Ingfield and less than a week after Wayne Benn’s departure.
His final appearance for Ossett was as a second half substitute in Friday night’s 3-1 to Pontefract Collieries which ended Benn’s reign.
The attacker was a huge part of Hemsworth’s 2016 Division One title-winning side and subsequent establishment as a leading Premier Division club.
Times have changed in Fitzwilliam and Hemsworth are second bottom and six points adrift with 15 games to play having only won two games all season.
Shane Kelsey’s men are going to need a herculean effort to pull themselves out of trouble – starting with the trip to Goole AFC next Tuesday.
