Callum Brook had Pontefract Collieries fans jumping for joy after scoring the late equaliser at unbeaten leaders Liversedge.

The draw means the Colls are the first team to collect any points from Clayborn this season.

The game was a fantastic occasion – so popular kick off had to be delayed to enable all 849 spectators in.

Highly-rated attacker Lewis Whitham got the juices flowing with his early second half opener – the ex-Stocksbridge Park Steels man fired low and hard under goalkeeper Lloyd Allinson.

‘Sedge were unable to double their lead and Ponte chased their prized goal.

That came when Jack Lazenby’s cross was headed back across goal where unlikely hero and subsitute Brook was waiting to put his name in lights.

With Marske United losing again, it was a missed opportunity for ‘Sedge to extend their lead at the top and they duly threw caution to the wind in search of the winner.

Even though Lazenby was dismissed for a second bookable offence, the Colls held firm.
