Omar Sanyang was Pickering Town’s hero, scoring the last minute winner in the huge 2-1 win over his former club Tadcaster Albion, just 60 seconds after Steve Roberts’ men thought they had thrown away three precious points away.

Struggling Pickering simply had to win to keep themselves within reach of the sides above them.

Billy Logan’s 30-yard screamer looked set to be the only goal of the game until Tadcaster dramatically equalised in the 89th minute through Eddie Church.

A draw was on the cards.

But Sanyang had other ideas and there was utter euphoria when his shot found the bottom corner.

Had they drawn or lost, Sheffield FC would have come off the bottom of the table as Ryan Cresswell’s men kick-started their campaign with the 2-0 defeat of Lincoln United.

Nathan Modest scored right at the start and James Baxendale sealed the win at the very end.

Bridlington Town lost 1-0 at play-offs chasing Cleethorpes Town.
