Multi-title winner Craig Elliott, the former Shaw Lane Aquaforce manager, has left Boston United after four years in charge.
The shock news was announced on Tuesday afternoon, a few days after the home defeat to Alfreton Town.
Elliott will soon be in demand as his track record is superb.
As the most successful Yorkshire based Non League manager of the last ten years, Elliott won three promotions with Shaw Lane and another with Glasshoughton Welfare in 2012.
He has also taken Boston to the FA Cup second round and Shaw Lane to the first round.
Boston’s statement said: “Boston United have regrettably parted company with first team manager Craig Elliott.
“The 43-year-old leaves his role following Sunday’s 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Alfreton Town.
“The former Shaw Lane boss, who took over the United reins in November 2017, memorably guided the Pilgrims to the second round of the FA Cup in 2019 and the National League North promotion final in 2020.
“Elliott departs the Jakemans Community Stadium with the club’s sincere thanks and best wishes for the future.
“A further statement will be made in due course.”
