Christian Fox says Selby Town have put themselves in a good position in the race for the play-offs.
Selby were walloped 4-0 by rivals Harrogate Railway last weekend, brutally ending a run of seven wins and one draw.
Fox – whose side head to Swallownest this afternoon – refused to be downbeat at the loss.
“The pleasing thing is we have characters in the dressing room and I’m sure they’ll bounce back,” Fox told Non League Yorkshire.
“There’s still plenty of games and points to play for.
“(The Harrogate defeat) isn’t the end of the world, we’re still in fifth and in the play-offs.
“It is in our own hands.
“That first spot is likely to go to Hallam or Ferriby, looking at the table so really, without looking at the table, there’s probably ten teams who are competing for those play-offs positions.
“Whilst you’re in there you have to be happy, especially considering where we were in October.
“We’d have taken this position back then.
“I think we have to take the positives out of that and move on (from the Harrogate defeat).”
Selby endured a terrible run of form during October before going on the great run and Fox’ paid tribute to his players.
“People had written us off in October but we’ve stuck together as a team and management team and just took every game as it came.
“It has been brilliant run and it shows the character and quality we have in the squad.
“We have to get back to that and try and get on another run.”
