Ryan Cresswell’s resurgent Sheffield FC leaped off the bottom of table after inflicting a nightmare night on nine man Pontefract Collieries who were cast aside in a 4-0 win.
Sheffield were in a strong position by half-time.
Harry Mitchell smashed in a 45-yard shot to break the deadlock in the 15th minute after Lloyd Allinson was caught out of his goal.
James Baxdendale then scored against his former team after Marc Newsham set him up.
Once as Ponte midfielder Jack Lazenby, back from suspension, was red carded, it made it a long way back for the Colls.
A Newsham header sealed the win for Sheffield with 15 minutes left.
Ponte were reduced to nine men when new signing Ben Morris was dismissed.
A 25-yard screamer from ex-Stocksbridge left-back Rory Coleman put the icing on the cake.
Pickering Town put in a decent effort in the 5-2 loss at promotion-chasing Marske United.
