Liversedge 6-3 FC Halifax Town
Lewis Whitham shone as Liversedge knocked a strong FC Halifax Town side out of the West Riding County Cup to reach the semi-finals.
‘Sedge raced into a 3-0 lead after just 15 minutes in front of an unbelievable crowd of over 700.
Alfie Raw’s penalty broke the deadlock before Whitham sent a rocket into the top corner.
Ollie Fearon capitalised on a defensive mistake to score the third goal.
Halifax debutant Zak Dearnley reduced the deficit with a header.
Halifax were soon right back into it as Gerry McDonagh scored from the penalty spot.
Whitham ensured ‘Sedge held a two goal lead at half-time by scoring a tap-in.
McDonagh scored another penalty on the hour to bring the scores to 4-3.
‘Sedge took the game to Halifax with 17 minutes to go.
Raw scored a penalty before Fearon slammed home at the near post to seal the win.
