Stocksbridge land new goalkeeper

NPL Division One East

Stocksbridge Park Steels manager Ian Richards

Stocksbridge Park Steels have their landed their new goalkeeper.

Young Huddersfield Town stopper Michael Roxburgh has joined on loan for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old has played on loan at Emley this season.

Ian Richards told Stocksbridge’s website: “Following the unexpected departure of Ed, we wanted to move quickly to sign a goalkeeper ready for Hebburn on Saturday.

“We decided that a loan move would be best at this time as it would allow us to plan for a longer term replacement for next season.

“I cannot thank people in the professional and non-league game enough for offering the services or trying to sort a goalkeeper for us.

“We are delighted to sign Michael Roxburgh on loan until the end of the season from Huddersfield Town.

“He is highly regarded by the goalkeeping staff at the club and has non-league experience from previous loans so understands the demands of the non-league game.

“We hope it is beneficial for all three parties involved.”
