Super Roy’s returns to Ammers with a bang

Roy Fogarty returned to Yorkshire Amateur with a bang

Roy Fogarty made a spectacular return to Yorkshire Amateur by scoring the dramatic injury-time winner in the 2-1 success at Brighouse Town.

The Ammers looked to have thrown away three points after Tom Haigh equalised in the last minute for Brighouse.

But Fogarty had other ideas.

The striker is on his third spell at the Ammers this season having re-signed this week following his recent departure from Ossett United and he stole maximum points for his side just minutes after Haigh’s goal.

The Ammers led for so long having taken a first half lead through Nathan Cartman who scored against the club he served so many moons ago.

Marko Basic did all the hard work with a great run down the right.

He centred the ball and Cartman lashed it into the top corner.

Ossett United manager Jas Colliver

North East giants Shildon’s title hopes are certainly up in the smoke if they weren’t already as Ossett United were the latest team to inflict despair onto them.

Jas Colliver’s men claimed a creditable 0-0 draw away from home.

Premier Division

Scarborough Athletic

Goals from Ryan Watson and Michael Coulson continued Scarborough Athletic’s play-offs push.

The 2-0 win at Lancaster City also gives them an outside chance for the title.

Jacob Hazel scored for Whitby

A late goal from leaders Matlock Town denied play-offs hopefuls Whitby Town a massive win.

Whitby led twice through Lewis Hawkins and Jacob Hazell and they were leading until Matlock scored in the 83rd minute to claim a 2-2 draw.
