Farsley Celtic goalkeeper Kyle Trenerry was on the score-sheet this weekend

Goalkeeper Kyle Trenerry scored as Farsley Celtic haunted former manager Adam Lakeland by winning 2-1 at Curzon Ashton to boost their survival hopes.

The first goal is certainly described as a stroke of luck as Trenerry’s long clearance downfield was misjudged by the Curzon goalkeeper.

Celts captain Dave Syers scored the second goal with a header at the back-post.

Curzon pulled one back with ten minutes to go.

York City remain in the play-offs despite the 3-3 draw with Southport who scored in the last minute.

Paddy McLaughlin, Jack McKay and Olly Dyson scored for York.

Guiseley lost 1-0 at Leamington while Bradford (Park Avenue) fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Gloucester City.

Simon Richman scored for Avenue.

FC Halifax Town strengthened their grip on third place and moved four points clear of Wrexham ahead of the big game on Tuesday night.

Second half goals from Billy Waters and substitute Gerry McDonagh earned Pete Wild’s men a 2-0 win over Torquay United.

  1. super win on satdy against curzon. Think the players enjoyed rubbing Adam Lakeland’s decision to flit mid-season, in his face.

  2. Another superb win last night too vs leamington. Frank Mulhern looks a top signing. V skilful and far too tricky for their defenders on the night.
