Rob Hunter has left Knaresborough Town with four games to go of the season.
His assistants Simon Parkes and Colin Heath will take charge of the remaining matches.
The shock news ends his almost year-long tenure at Manse Lane.
Although the league table may not suggest it, former Garforth Town and Glasshoughton Welfare chief Hunter has been fairly successful due to the his blooding of countless young and talented players from the local area.
Keeping Knaresborough’s head above water has also been a tough ask as he had to contend with a horrendous injury list throughout the whole campaign.
A statement said: “Knaresborough Town can today confirm that they have parted company with Manager Rob Hunter by mutual consent
“Rob took charge at Manse Lane at the start of the season. During his time he has given young players from the reserves the opportunity to step up into the first team.
“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Rob for all he has done during his time at the club and Rob is always welcome down at Manse Lane
“Simon Parkes and Colin Heath will take charge of the first team for the remainder of the season.”
