Inspirational captain marvel Aaron Brotherton found the net twice as Dodworth Miners Welfare revived their title aspirations with a comfortable 3-0 win at local rivals Wombwell Main.
Dodworth are now eight points behind leaders Swinton Athletic and Darren Young’s troops have two games-in-hand.
Matty Jacobs also scored in the win over Wombwell who were desperate to get revenge on their visitors due to the heart-breaking defeat they suffered at Dodworth in mid-March.
North Gawber won 3-1 against Hepworth United in the six-pointer to move further away from the relegation zone.
Carey Welford (2) and Matthew Blakey’s earned Gawber their fourth win in five fixtures.
Improving Houghton Main remain behind them as they won 5-3 against Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves.
