Golcar United are one win away from Step 5 football after holding their nerve to win the penalty shootout against AFC Blackpool in the play-offs semi-final.
Ash Flynn scored the decisive spot kick in nerve-wracking 4-2 shootout win to book a trip to Holker Old Boys for the final next week.
The tie, watched by over 500 people, went all the way after Blackpool had fought back from a two goal deficit to force extra-time.
Buddy Cox’s opener and a Flynn tap-in put Golcar in command at half-time.
Blackpool fought back and their first goal on the hour was followed up with a late equaliser to force a further 30 minutes.
Golcar lost Leon Henry in the first half of extra-time as the Brighouse Town great was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
Dan Stocker, Tayo, Daniel Naidole and Flynn made themselves heroes in the shootout along with penalty-saving goalkeeper Harry Stead.
