NPL Division One East
Craig Ogilvie has stepped down as joint manager of Yorkshire Amateur.
Ogilvie, who has a long history with the Ammers having played for their junior sides many years ago, leaves after two years in the post.
He can depart with his head held high having alongside Neil Sibson, guided the Ammers into the Northern Premier League for the first time in its history.
“It has been the hardest decision I’ve had to make while in football,” Ogilvie said.
“Those that know me will understand what I’ve put into this club over the last three and a half years and I leave with a promotion and the club playing its matches in the NPL, the highest level its played at as long as most can remember and that’s something I’ll proud of.
“Giving up your time away from work/family life on a voluntary basis is tough to justify, however all the players that have been around the group since I’ve been involved have made it all worthwhile and hugely enjoyable.
“I’ve met people who I will now call friends and people who I can trust which in football is difficult to find.
“A special mention and thanks go to Neil for bringing me into the club originally.
“I’d just left a difficult previous job in the NCEL and Neil saw something he thought could be of benefit to Yorkshire amateur and I’ll always respect him for doing that.
“We’ve worked well together as manager and he is now someone I can certainly call a good friend.
“I’ve got no plans, no job I’m leaving for and who knows where my future lies.
“This decision is to allow time for the club to plan for next season in whichever direction they choose and I genuinely wish them, the staff and all the players nothing but the best moving forward.”
