Bridlington Town striker Danny Earl

Bridlington Town put their destiny in their own hands after winning 4-1 to relegate Pickering Town and leave Frickley Athletic in big trouble.

Bridlington go into the final day showdown with Dunston knowing a point will ensure they will stay out of the bottom two while a win will completely guarantee their safety.

Pickering simply had to win the huge local derby and their afternoon began brilliantly as Alhassane Keita scored from the spot in the first half.

Matty Plummer equalised with a header on the stroke of half-time.

Sparks flew on the hour as Brid’s Will Annan was dismissed along with Pickering captain Wayne Brooksby following a ruckus.

That’s when Brid went all guns blazing.

Danny Earl placed them ahead and he soon scored again before Pete Davidson sealed the win.

Pontefract Collieries midfielder Ben Morris haunted his former club

Pickering will definitely finish bottom and Frickley Athletic face a nervous last day as they occupy the second relegation spot following the 3-1 loss to ten man local rivals Pontefract Collieries at Westfield Lane.

Ben Morris haunted his former club with the opener before Jack Shepherd saw red in the 27th minute.

The sending off failed to stop Ponte in their tracks as Rob Guilfoyle scored from the penalty spot.

Joe Lumsden hit the third goal on the hour.

Colls goalkeeper Lloyd Allinson saved a penalty before Nathan Perks pulled one back against his hometown club.

Defeat to Shildon will see Frickley relegated to the Northern Counties East League for the first time in the club’s history.

Sheffield FC are third bottom but thanks to their 1-1 draw with Stocksbridge Park Steels, Ryan Cresswell’s men have a point more than Frickley.

Josh Nodder gave the Steels the lead.
