Halifax miss opportunity to go second

National League Round-Up

FC Halifax Town missed the opportunity to climb above Wrexham and into second place.

Halifax were beaten 1-0 at Southend after conceding a 12th minute Kenny Clark goal.

Halifax remain in a strong position in the play-offs, but their grip on third-place has loosened due to Solihull Moors’ win over Aldershot.

Solihull are now only two points behind Pete Wild’s side.

National North

Guiseley’s survival hopes are still alive after Steve Kittrick’s men claimed a precious point after drawing 2-2 with Curzon Ashton.

The game was a missed opportunity for the Lions as a victory would have seen them go level on points with AFC Telford United.

Adam Haw and Dom Tear got the goals for Guiseley.

Farsley Celtic remain in danger as Russ Willcox’s side lost 1-0 at Chester FC.

Safe Bradford (Park Avenue) were narrowly beaten 3-2 at ten man Hereford FC.

Avenue were 3-0 down until Adam Nowakowski and a Brad Dockerty penalty sparked a comeback.

Mark Bower’s side were unable to equalise in the final 30 minutes.
