West Riding County Cup Final
Brighouse Town 1-3 Liversedge
Liversedge came from behind to win the West Riding County Cup for the first time since 1990.
‘Sedge also completed the double having already won the NPL Division One East title.
The league champions did not have it their own way as Laurence Sorhaindo gave Brighouse Town the lead in the 18th minute.
‘Sedge responded instantly as Lewis Whitham reaped mayhem on the left and crossed for Ben Atkinson to score.
It took until after the hour for ‘Sedge to pounce again.
Whitham was the provider for the second time and he teed up Nicky Walker who shot through a crowd of bodies to score.
The ex-Stocksbridge Park Steels man Whitham then grabbed himself a deserved goal as he hit the crucial third to ensure the trophy would be going home with ‘Sedge.
