National North
York City are one win away from ending their National League exile after a stunning 1-0 victory at Brackley Town in the play-offs semi-final.
York will host Boston United in the next’s final, bidding to win promotion.
Lennell John-Lewis was the hero as he poked home from close range on the stoke of half-time.
There was more drama before the interval as Brackley were awarded a penalty.
Pete Jameson was equally influential as John-Lewis as he guessed correctly and saved James Armson’s effort.
National League
FC Halifax Town were unable to spoil Stockport County’s party as the Shaymen went down 2-0 – a result that crowned their hosts as champions.
Halifax will now host Chesterfield in the first round of the play-offs on Tuesday 24th May.
