It is the end of an era at FC Halifax Town as manager Pete Wild has left the club to pursue a new opportunity.
Wild, who has been linked with the vacancies at League Two sides Barrow and Hartlepool United, departs after three superb seasons in charge.
The ex-Oldham Athletic boss led them to two play-offs finishes and one top ten finish.
His exit comes two days after the play-off eliminator defeat to Chesterfield.
A statement said: “We can confirm that Manager Pete Wild has left the club to pursue a new opportunity.
“We’d like to put on record our sincere gratitude to Pete for an exciting three seasons, achieving two playoff finishes and a top ten finish… a very credible record.”
It continued: “Town ended the regular season with the best home record, the best defence, and the club’s highest finish since 2006.
“Despite the disappointing conclusion to the campaign, Pete Wild gave us a memorable final season with some incredible moments and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.
“Thank You Gaffer
“The club will commence its search for Pete’s replacement, there will be no further announcement until our new manager is appointed.”
