Toolstation NCEL Premier Division
Handsworth joint manager Jason Dodsworth expects the 2022/23 title race to be one of the most competitive in NCEL history.
Dodsworth, a stalwart of the league, has been around the Premier Division long enough to give an expert opinion.
“I think it is probably the strongest league I’ve ever been involved in,” Dodsworth told Non League Yorkshire.
“I think you can look at ten or 12 teams who you can pick a winner from.
“Hallam and North Ferriby are two big clubs with big support, they’re going to be really good as well as Yorkshire Amateur and Frickley Athletic who have come down.
“Even though Grimsby have gone, the league is even stronger than last season.
“It is hard to say who are the favourites.”
Handsworth begin pre-season this evening and Dodsworth says the Ambers have been busy on the recruitment front.
“There’s going be a few changes and a few new faces coming in,” he said.
“We have gone about our business really well and we’ve got some really good lads coming down.
“Obviously nobody can sign until the forms are out so you have to go about your business quietly.”
