National North
A club icon is back at Farsley Celtic as their new goalkeeping coach.
Tom Morgan has returned to the Village club after five years away and he will also act as their number two stopper.
Morgan had several spells as their goalkeeper during his playing career.
He was between the sticks for most of their three promotions in four years under Lee Sinnott which took them all the way to the top flight of Non League Football.
He was then their goalkeeper for the 2011 title-winning NCEL Premier Division season.
In the few years he has been goalkeeper coach at Scarborough and Liversedge.
Morgan told Farsley’s website: “When I got separate calls From Russ and Steve, I was really impressed in what they had to say about the challenges that they face next season in the Conference North and it’s a challenge I really want to be a part of.
“All I’ve heard is good things about Russ, and Steve was my youth team coach at Halifax Town so the opportunity to link up and learn from them is a massive pull.
“I love Farsley as a club and I have a lot of special memories here so that definitely helped to make the decision to leave Liversedge.
“The best memories that stand out at Farsley are the Conference North semi-final penalty shootout win over Kettering, then the final win over Hinckley, and also winning the NCEL with the newly formed Farsley club.”
