York City have signed a winger from promoted EFL club Port Vale – and he’s a former Bradford (Park Avenue) player.
Alex Hurst is reunited with his former Vale boss John Askey after putting pen-to-paper.
Hurst joined Port Vale from Avenue back in 2019 after impressing during a trial.
The 22-year-old only played 21 times in League Two in three years.
York have signed him for an undisclosed fee.
Hurst told York’s website:“I knew there was some interest from talking to my agent last year and as soon as I heard they wanted to sign me permanently I just wanted to get it over the line.
“It is a great club and I’ve worked with the Gaffer before – he gave me my debut in the Football League.
