NPL Premier Division
One of Guiseley’s rising stars has signed a new and improved contract.
Lewis Hey, son of the former Guiseley and Bradford (Park Avenue) star Nicky, has been tipped for a bright future in the game and he could set be a first team regular this season.
Hey has come through the Guiseley academy and already played a number of games in the National North for them.
He has also had trials with Sunderland, Stoke City, Brentford and Barnsley in the last 18 months.
Hey told Guiseley’s website: “I feel that I owe the club something, Guiseley gave me a good introduction to men’s football so I feel respectful to the club for that, I feel something for the club.
“After the disappointment of injuries and relegation last season I am now looking to get plenty of minutes under the new manager Danny Ellis.
“He knows all about me having been my coach for a number of years in the Academy. He knows how I work and I know how he works so I am looking forward to it.
“After the disappointment of last season I spoke to my family about the situation, my dad Nicky used to play for Guiseley, and I decided that I needed to get more established in men’s football and I feel that the ideal way to do that is to throw myself into this new level that Guiseley are playing at and push on from there.”
