Mick O’Connell has pulled off the capture of two exciting attackers at Harrogate Railway.
Marcus Day has gone but O’Connell has been able to attract two players who are great replacements.
Lewis Walters was once tipped for stardom at Leeds United and he is a coup signing for Railway.
He went onto play Non League for the likes of Guiseley, Barrow and Ashton United and he returns to the game after a short break.
The other signing is Penistone Church front-man Luke Stewart, formerly of Knaresborough Town fame.
O’Connell said: “I am thrilled to finally land both Luke and Lewis. We have been trying to sign both players for a long time, we have had to be patient but we are all so glad to get both lads over the line. They both fit how we want to play and more importantly there are both really good lads who will fit in seemlessly with this great group we have. Both players bring different quality’s to what we already have and I’m sure they will have a big impact this year.
“Luke is a proven goal scorer in the league above, he’s quick, strong and aggressive with a brilliant attitude, Luke has had some good offers so we are really pleased he has bought into our project.
“Lewis has an outstanding footballing pedigree having played profession football for both Leeds and Nottingham Forrest as well as playing at the very top end of non league football and clubs like Fylde, Guisley and Ashton. He has had some time out of the game and we are going to get him back enjoying his football again, Lewis is a quality player and will be a massive player for us this year.
“Both lads are really good friends and to see them both here enjoying there football and helping us get the club back to where it should be it brilliant. We are delighted to have both lads at the club.”
