Nathan Cartman says Yorkshire Amateur’ are unlikely to bring anyone new into their squad before the new season.
Cartman has been very busy in the past few weeks as several more additions have arrived but he is now satisfied with his current crop.
“There’ll be no-one else coming in unless they can improve the squad,” Cartman told Non League Yorkshire.
“I’m happy with what I’ve got.”
Several weeks ago, prior to their first pre-season fixture, Cartman thought his squad was finalised.
However, whilst there has been an influx of new faces, there has also been departures – including Luke Sharry, Fernando Moke, Roy Fogarty and Leon Osborne.
“I think if you can improve your squad and get the players in then you’re going to do it,” he said.
“That’s what I have done (with various arrivals).
“Roy Fogarty and Leon Osborne left in midweek.
“Myself and (first team coach) Kyle (Quigley) had a chat over the last week and we said (Roy and Leon) weren’t in our plans going forward.
“We spoke to them on Tuesday after the Harrogate Railway game.”
He added: “I think that’s how it works in football.
“Everyone gets who they can in (for pre-season) and then they change if they need to be and that’s what we have done.
“It is not being ruthless – it is being honest with people and that’s football.
“(The exits) have been purely based on footballing reasons and nothing else.
“It has happened to me loads of times in my career. You move on and find another club.”
Cartman’s squad also contains a number of hidden gems such as Emmanual Amissah.
“There’s Marcus, the Albion left-back who has come in,” he said.
“Joao Silva is 17 and he’s a little gem from Pro Elite and he has come in and done well.
“We have experience around young lads which is good.
“We’re full of pace which is what you need in football now.”
Yorkshire Amateur visit Campion on Tuesday night when Cartman will look to out-smart mentor Lee Ashforth, the Campion joint manager.
