Horbury Town have captured a striker who played for a league rival last season.

Jamie Cusworth has made the move from Glasshoughton Welfare to join Darren Barnes’ side.

Cusworth played the majority of last season for Glasshoughton after earning promotion from Step 7 after a prolific run of goals for Hall Green United in the West Yorkshire League.

He introduced himself to Horbury fans in spectacular style by scoring a screamer in the 2-2 draw with Garforth Town in the Yorkshire Trophy on Tuesday night.

Barnes has also brought back another player who played for them in the WYL but has NCEL experience.

That is Eoin Schofield who has wore the colours of Albion Sports and Nostell Miners Welfare.

Barnes, who had several trialists in his side at Garforth, is expected to make some more additions before the kick off against Nottinghamshire-side Ollerton Town.
