Pontefract Collieries manager Craig Rouse says Joe Lumsden’s injury is not as bad as first feared.
Striker Lumsden was carried off during the first half of Pontefract’s 4-2 win over Knaresborough Town.
“It looked like a serious one and we were concerned at first,” Rouse told Non League Yorkshire.
“The physios worked on him at half-time and it is not as serious as first feared.
“It might be a matter of weeks rather than months which is pleasing.
“He was in agony initially but we think he might have tweaked the back of his hamstring at the side of his knee.
“He’s strapped up so we’re hoping he’s fine.”
Regardless of Lumsden’s injury, Rouse is searching for a forward.
“We’re hoping to bring one more in and we have irons in the fire,” he said.
“We’re actively looking.”
Rouse is also not too concerned with centre-half Jack Steers’ decision to rejoin Liversedge.
“We targeted Harry Spratt from Ashton and he can play as a centre-half, left-back and in midfield so we’re not too disrupted by what’s happened,” he said.
“There’s others who can centre-half as well so we’re more than covered there.”
