New Eccleshill United manager Ryan Toulson

Ryan Toulson says Eccleshill United may need to be patient as it could take time for their new look side to start firing on all cylinders.

New boss Toulson has had to reshape the Eccleshill squad because of various departures.

“Like I say to you before the ambition is still high,” Toulson told Non League Yorkshire.

“I’ll set that goal but it is a rebuild and we have to be realistic with that rebuild.

“We have kept the experience of Kelvin (Bleau), Coops in the middle of park and add the likes of Ben Gordon to that back line and Fernando Moke is midfield who I feel adds real strength to the side.

“It is a rebuild and it may take a little bit of time in those first few games for the squad to gel.

“I’ve still got a couple of players I’m looking to get over-the-line in the next few days that might not happen for tomorrow.

“It might take time and hopefully we’ll get stronger as the season goes on.”

Toulson has not fully completed his squad rebuilding for the opening day battle against Winterton Rangers but he’s not disappointed about that.

“No not really,” he said.

“It is about making sure the players are right.

“I’ve had chance to bring players in and those players have not been right for how we are going to work and play.

“It is about biding our time and waiting for lads who have been aiming higher themselves and trying to get into your Guiseley’s, Scarborough’s and your Bradford (Park Avenue).

“I’m not disappointed one little bit with how things have gone.

“We do have ones in the pipeline that I can hopefully get over-the-line in the next few days.

“We’re waiting on a couple today who we hope will be registered for tomorrow.”
