Athersley Rec have been boosted by the arrival of one of Handsworth’s highly-rated youngsters.
Attacker Noah Flint has played a number of times for the Handsworth first team and he will get the chance to play even more football after joining the Rec.
Jimmy Whitehead said: “We nearly got Noah just after Christmas last season but unfortunately for us Handsworth had quite a few Injuries so it meant he had to stay.
“Our interest in Noah didn’t end in January though as we felt we could still have a chance of getting him in this season and I know ((Dean Shirt) had spoken to Doddo (Jason Dodsworth Handsworth joint manager) on a number of occasions expressing our desire to bring Noah in on loan for the season.
“I personally have to thank Doddo for allowing him to come to us and trusting us to develop Noah further.”
