Nathan Haslam feels Whitby Town are well-placed to at least match last season’s seventh placed finish.
Whitby kick off the campaign with a tricky trip to Matlock Town and joint managers Haslam and Lee Bullock have set the bar high again.
“I think like every club you want to improve on your previous exploits,” Haslam told Non League Yorkshire.
“We were bitterly disappointed (at the end of last season) because we kind of blew up towards the end.
“We had some good results against the good teams but poor results against the poor teams.
“We have established that we need more goals in other areas which is why we have made the signings we have.
“We think we have a stronger squad than last season.
“For us it is all about improving on our seventh place finish last season.
“We don’t want to mention too much about play-offs because we have 40-odd games before we get to it.
“One game at a time but we’re certainly in rude health to move on and improve on last season.”
