The search for a new manager has begun at Pickering Town after the sad exit of Steve Roberts.
Tony Hackworth and Ged Dalton have been put in temporary charge until the permanent replacement is found.
Roberts was handed the impossible job when Pickering were placed in the Northern League following relegation from the NPL.
Recruitment of North East players was nigh on mission impossible because of geographical reasons and it is no surprise that results have not gone their way.
At one stage in early pre-season, Roberts had approached 25 North East based players and received a ‘no’ off each one’.
Roberts was appointed in early 2020 and ultimately never got a fair crack of the whip because of the Northern League switch and the pandemic.
