Picton hits late winner for Ponte in FA Cup

Jake Picton smashed home the late winner as Pontefract Collieries booked their FA Cup second qualifying round tie at Chester FC.

The Colls had to come from behind to win 2-1 against Charnock Richard who took the lead on the stroke of half-time. 

Gav Allott responded for Ponte straight after the interval after connecting with Mikey Dunn’s cross.

Picton volleyed in the 77th minute winner after the visiting goalkeeper spilled a corner.

NPL Premier Division 

Guiseley suffered late heart-break at South Shields as a last minute goal condemned them to a 2-1 defeat.

Luke Dean’s goal had appeared to have earned them a point.

NPL Division One East 

Stocksbridge Park Steels lost 1-0 to Long Eaton United.
