Conor Glavin’s second half penalty earned struggling Worsbrough Bridge a stunning 2-1 victory at Wakefield AFC in front of over 400 people which reignites their season.
Worsbrough faced a daunting task against the ambitious club, especially after recording just one win from their opening ten games.
Few probably gave them a chance but Worsbrough rose to the occasion and Glavin silenced the home fans with his 19th minute opener.
Recent Wakefield signing Jayden Sandhu quickly equalised with a deflected free kick.
That was all the Wakefield fans had to cheer about and Glavin totally crashed the party with his penalty.
Horbury Town ended a run of four games without a win in spectacular style as Darren Barnes’ men cruised to a 5-1 win at Parkgate.
Horbury were leading 4-0 at the interval thanks to goals from Robert Evans, Sam Awty, Fibril Bojang and James Cusworth.
Taylor Nicholson pulled one back for Parkgate before Ben Agu added the fifth goal.
